EMPLOYMENT/LABOR DISPUTES
Rose-Anne has extensive experience in the employment arena, having represented both sides of the labor dispute in both litigation and in mediation before the EEOC. Her philosophy is that the sooner an embroiled conflict is curtailed in the workplace by keeping tensions from escalating and the earlier both sides in the conflict can safely voice their issues, the sooner productivity in the workplace can be restored. Workplace conflict is unique in that the hierarchical levels of power inherent in this arena often create divided loyalties, conflicts of interest and perceived unfairness if left to fester. This in turn can lead to an escalation of legal costs associated with protracted litigation. Rose-Anne works with employers to assure that their investment in their important employees is recognized and that creative resolutions can be crafted to keep both sides of the table in a positive working relationship. She also works to empower employees to deal head on with the underlying root of their grievance, crafting a workable solution that would otherwise be overlooked in the litigation arena.
GENERAL CIVIL LITIGATION
Since being admitted to practice in 1987, Rose-Anne has been involved in all facets of civil practice. She has litigated and mediated landlord-tenant and other real property disputes, as well as all types of commercial contract disputes. Rose-Anne has experience in business entity formation and dissolution in the realm of liability companies and corporations, commercial litigation, real estate disputes and construction defects. What Rose-Anne’s brings to the mediation table in these arenas is her highly intuitive insights into the dynamics of conflict and an application of this understanding to resolve seemingly intractable disputes. Whether assisting the parties in reaching an agreement that terminates the partnership relationship forever, or helping parties to a dispute reach a compromise that has an “out of the box” resolution, Rose-Anne’s approach to mediation produces results that end conflict while maintaining dignity, decorum and mutual respect.
